Driving Growth for Auto-Parts Producers - มุ่งสู่การขยายตัวของผู้ผลิตรถยนต์

   Major car manufacturers have applied for the second phase of the Thailand Board of Investment's "Eco-car" program. Companies signed on for the new phase included Ford Motor, Mazda, Volkswagen and General Motors.

    These projects will add up to a $4.3 billion investment and 1.58 million vehicles produce with this project will boost overall annual car production to 3 million units while strengthening ASEAN's position as a major hub for automotive manufacturing.

   Supporting industries will also benefit from the eco-program, especially auto-part outsourcing in Thailand. Automakers are expected to use many locally produced components in the manufacture of vehicles.

   สำหรับโครงการผลิตรถยนต์ ประหยัดพลังงานมาตรฐานสากลระยะที่๒ (Eco-car phase 2) ได้มีค่ายรถยนต์ยักย์ใหญ่หลายรายได้ยื่นขอรับการส่งเสริมจากทาง BOI แล้ว เช่น ฟอร์ด มาสด้า โฟล์คสวาเกน และ จีเอ็ม โดยร่วมมูลค่าการลงทุนกว่า 4.3 พันล้านดอลล่าสหรัฐ และจะทำให้มีกำลังการผลิตรถ Eco-car กว่า 1.58 ล้านคัน โดยจะส่งผลให้ยอดการผลิตรถร่วมเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นกว่า 3 ล้านคันต่อปี 

   ซึ่งจะส่งผลดีต่อการผลิตชิ้นส่วนประกอบโดยรวมของประเทศไทย และทำให้ไทยมีสถานะเป็นศูนย์กลางการผลิตรถยนต์ของอาเซียนในระยะยาวอีกด้วย
